Volunteering
ActiVate - Our Volunteer Training
Programme through vinvolved,
the national youth volunteering programme, we are offering a range
of volunteering opportunities to young people aged 16-25, who want
to gain more experience in the arts.
Our placements will range from one-day practical circus skills workshops,
to longer-term office-based placements, to completing Arts
Awards - giving you the choice of how you can best develop your
own skills and how best to contribute to the company and the community.
Whether you want to gain insight into the arts sector as a whole,
for your own career benefit; or would simply like to take part in
training in aspects of circus skills and performing; we'll have
something for you.
A number of volunteers with Swamp have gone on to find further employment
in the arts field, or onto further circus based training, so it
can be a good stepping stone for the future!
These opportunities are flexible in terms of time commitment. Most
are flexible with respect to days/dates too - exceptions are noted.
For all opportunities, travel expenses will be paid. If a CRB check
is required, we can arrange that for you (and will pay for it) but
if you have one already, we would need to see it.
For volunteers under 25, it will also be possible to enrol for the
Arts Award (Bronze or
Silver) and gain a nationally recognised qualification. This project
is run in partnership with Point
Blank Theatre Company. If desired, volunteers can have the chance
to contribute to the work of both organisations.

which is a longer term full time volunteering commitment, please
